There are few things in this world that are truly essential to have on hand when raising a child. The Dangerous Book for BoysThis book is packed with essential knowledge for having a happy and exciting childhood. It should be in every household. More specifically, it should be in every kids stash, right along side the rubber band ball and rock collection.
Not long after I cracked open this treasure, my husband and his brother secreted it off to their club house (the shed), to pour over it's contents. The verdict? It's everything a kid needs to know. School should be based on the knowledge in this book.
My girls and I have been enjoying it too. We've played quarter football and designed our own pirate flags based on the pirate histories we read. Tessa is begging us to help her build a periscope, while Mira is drawing up extensive go cart plans. I am reading the sections on Poker and Chess, how I made it through childhood without learning how to play I'll never know but I'm working on immediately correcting this.
I've already made a list of children I know who will be getting this for their birthdays. I hope it will encourage them to put down the video game controller and spend some quality time as a kid. The Dangerous Book for Boys is a five star find for boys AND girls (and grown ups who are young at heart too)!
